Two more weeks till Summer holidays, I'm so excited. I might just sit back, relax and watch T.V or go to the beach if the sun burns me. I think the year 8s are delighted and depressed at the same time, unfortunately we have to leave this school to move off to college next year.
DON'T FORGET TO READ IN THE HOLIDAY!!
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 12 and my teachers are Mr Reid and Mrs Golder.

Athletics
On Tuesday my entire school had athletics. It was a good day but the sun felt like it was boiling. It was a long event. This year it is a little bit different from last years athletics because the year eights don't have to run 75 metres anymore instead we now have to run a long 200 metres and a very, very, long 400 metre run. First we did the 400 metres, followed by 100 metres then lastly 200 metres to finish it off.

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2017!
Yesterday our whole school went to the Manaiakalani Film Festival at Sylvia Park Hoyts Cinemas. First all of us were seated, then we have to wait for the movie to start. After a while, the lights went off and it started "the movie". Our movie was about Rugby Values, it was about being a good sportsmanship, eating healthy food and what it takes to become a future champion rugby player.

End Of The Year Tests!
This week we took our test and nearly everyone of us we nervous because we didn't know there was going to be a test. The subjects of the tests were maths and spelling. For the maths test, there were two minutes per sheet. There were four maths sheets but separately handed out. The four sheets were multiplication, division, subtraction and addition but for the spelling Mr Reid just pronounced the word and we had to spell it. I was nervous, but I tried my BEST.

Term 4 Has Arrived 📚
We are back from the holidays and it's time to activate our brain and start learning. This term is going to be the best term, I thought. Until my teacher said that there will be a test next week. I received an message from the college saying that there were be a test on 30th November. It had me worrying for several days. I said to myself that "I have to work twice as hard then I might pass the test". 📚

Duffy Assembly
On Tuesday we had a duffy show and the role model was Michel Mulipola. He was an artist and pro wrestler. He illustrated many books for children like comics and school journal, he told us that his favorite superhero was green lantern. He talked about how he became an artist. He showed us some of the drawing. I kind of like him because he is a funny man.

St Kents

Last week some people were chosen to go to St Kents and I was one of them. When we got to St Kents there were three boys waiting for us. We followed them to the court. When we got to the court we were put into 5 groups. Each group, played an activity. At the end of the activity they ask us what do we like the most and why is it fun. When that was finish we all came together. Some boys then thanked us and we thank them back them by singing a Maori song and happy birthday song to Musica. Then it was time for us to go back to school.

Skipping
A few weeks ago Room 12 group 1 and group 2 have been doing skipping. We do skipping for at least 15 minutes or 20 minutes. We do skipping 25 minutes before we go home. Our teachers told us to skip as long as we can and if you stop you have to sit down and fold your skipping rope. 5 minutes before home time we have to sit down and wait for the bell to ring and then we get to go home.
Daily Fitness
Every morning we have to do running as our fitness for 10 minutes, some people just jot it and some people just walk it. We only jog around our senior block.
