Matariki is the seven stars we see hat mean that it is Maori new year. The stars come during the end of May and the beginning of June, the stars shine toward east. If matariki stars are not seen clearly it means it will be a cold season. Matariki means little eyes or eyes of god. Matariki is one of the most important festivals in Maori culture.
